Any of you ever get outside and record your own sound effects? Any suggestions about good parabolic microphones?

Any of you ever get outside and record your own sound effects? YES! Quite often in fact, I use them for effects in documentries, and a lot of video projects.

Any suggestions about good parabolic microphones? No, do not use them, find a good "shotgun microphone - around $200.00 such as an AZDEN or similar. You will have beter quality, more directional and less transient noise from the background of the sound you are trying to capture.
