Hey Everybody,
I have returned from the wilds of Grand Haven, Michigan. Recording the Danielle Steel audio book was awesome! I met some wonderful people at Brilliance Audio and they made me feel both welcome and comfortable. So here's a few nuggets for you...
I narrated both the abridged and unabridged versions (155 and 324 pages, respectively).
We were given five days to do it and I did in four (BTW I'm exhausted and my throat still hurts a little). As it turns out I'm a pretty fast talker. Not so fast that anything had to be re-done, though. Also, by day three I hit my stride so I was speaking slower but making less mistakes.
No, Ms. Steel was not there but she did pick my voice. At least the Danielle Steel camp did. Actually, I was the second choice. The other guy is the voice of Dodge but it didn't work out with him so yay for me!
I played 24 characters and used a variety of accents. The most difficult exchanges were between the photographer from Montana and the nun from Chicago.
Overall, it was an invaluable experience and hopefully will take my career to the next level. Woo hoo! _________________ Tom Dheere - The "H" is Silent, but I'm Not!

Wonderful to hear!
Now, how was it doing the sex scenes? Did you feel the need for a cigarette afterwards? And they didn't involve the photographer and the nun, right? Or....(dunh dunh duuuunnnnh) did they?
