I've looked in all of my online sources for the pronunciation of this word. I use m-w, american heritage, and yahoo, but I can't find it. It's a strange one garburetor and it's something that's in a kitchen. Any ideas?

Thanks
Kathy

GARR-burr-ate-urr. Like In-Sink-Er-A-Tor (the garbage disposal) or like carburetor (the thing under the hood).

Just a guess.

From urbandictionary.com, and with profuse apologies to my northerly neighbor:
A canadian word that involves garbage disposal through your kitchen sink! When you turn it on, it makes a loud grating noise and... bye bye garbage! Some claim that this was once or may still be a trade name. The world may never know.

"I tossed all the peelings into the garburator, eh"

Thanks Diane

And yes, it is from Canada! I guess the garburetor craze has not hit the states yet, eh?
Also, I'll add urbandictionary to my favorites. Thanks again.

Kathy
