For my phone, I'm using one of the first digital models from WAY back. It is now starting to clip-off parts of incoming messages (not good for business).

Are there machines or systems that I can export my greeting to from the PC/Audition? What models/brands/vendors are worth checking out?

I use IVM Phone Answering Attendant.

This was started by one guy in Australia and is one of my favorite products. It's worth downloading the demo, and I believe it is free for one line used just as an answering machine. You copy your wav file to the computer, configure it to use that file and go. You can even set it up messages based on the day and time, so differing messages on nights and weekends are possible. It also supports SMS text messaging, call forwarding (with two or more lines) and fax back.

In addition to an answering machine, it is a fairly inexpensive IVR solution considering what you get. If you're a programmer, plugins exist for building out IVR systems with PIN identification, database connectivity, etc.... You could set up a service to process payments or initiate outgoing calls to inform your clients their audio is finished and available for download 'or' you could simply practice your IVR style delivery.

Anyway, it's a great tool and I'm an extremely satisfied customer. I remember talking with a friend who was telling me all about the new IVR system he bought - he owns one of those "We'll Buy Your Home Today" companies. After 15 minutes of product comparisons, we realized we were both using the same product, it is extremely versatile.

Also, they have other free (to an extent) products such as BMS (Music on Hold), so if you're really into creating an office-like environment when the telephone rings, take a look at their products.

Tren (and all)

Just want to echo (oh-oh-oh) what Kevin said about the NCH audio products. I have used them for years...they are outstanding and do precisely what they claim. And by all means be sure to check out all their stuff (a lot of them free) for audio ... most especially WavePad. You won't be disappointed.
