Why is that? I'm assuming you're referencing some grammatical rule, but I have to say "there doesn't have to be so many" sounds bad to my ears.

It's funny that one word can have such an opposite effect on multiple people. That's the one bad thing I think about putting stuff for general critique. You can get so many varying opinions that it can create more questions than answers. Smile

Wow! Who knew the word "don't" would be such a conversation piece? Anyway, once again thanks to all who listened and left their comments. I've finished up with what I'm happy with for now. Some parts were killed, rearranged, and added. If anyone is still interested, and not completely sick of hearing my voice, here it is...

Top notch stuff Donovan. I failed to mention that before when I was talking about the grammar thing. You do great work. Go forth and conquer my friend....go forth and conquer.

Donovan,

You've just done exactly what I was going to suggest. Really good stuff. Really.

You recall, my friend, what happened when I heard the very first demo you brought to me?

Not this time.

Nice. Very, VERY nice.

Thank you all so much. It really means a lot to me.

Just to give a little history, Vance was the first person I ever asked to critique my demo. He heard my very first one. I won't go into what was said exactly, but I have often told him that his critique was among the top motivators I've ever had to improve on my craft. (Believe me, I had A LOT of improving to do.) I am forever grateful for that. He's a big part of why I've grown so much in the last couple of years.

Donovan,

You got a voice like butta! Great range. I love the Money read- very solid the Nicorette read was real- excellent stuff. And you hit the mark with the mix of young & urban sound and the polished & professional sound. You my friend are a double threat! Sounds awesome. Keep us all posted on your successes.I have a feeling there will be many to come!

I felt like it was two separate demos. The first two examples did very little for me, but I really liked the last five spots enormously - go with that voice!

Threadjack alert...

Man, what's up with Pringles being so lame here in the U.S. vs. other countries?!

In various parts of Asia they have Curry Pringles (fantastic!) as well as things like German Bacon (not too different than the bacon ones here), Shrimp & Cracked Pepper (really amazing despite sounding a bit odd), French Consomme (think French Onion Soup without the cheese), Tomato & Mozzarella, Paprika, Sweet Thai Chilli and more.

Dayum I wants me some international Pringles!!
