This is the THIRD time I had to break into my vocal booth. For some reason, I keep my studio keys for the front door on one keychain, then the keys to the control room on another... and, a set of keys for the vocal booth (why is there a lock on the vocal booth? I have no idea - if they break into this place, I doubt that I'll jump up and down about them leaving my mics behind). This morning, I left the keys to the booth at home (again) - so I'm going next door to the hardware store and buying a hammer and chisel... for the third time, because I have no idea where I put those either.
One of those days I guess. Gotta love it.

Dang-- the booth door automatically locks? That sucks!
Sounds like a recipe for a murder mystery. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

The hammer and chisel are just inside the door to the booth....right where you put them as soon as you broke in last time. |

did you ever think about going to home depot and getting a new doorknob?
i.e., one that doesn't have a lock
Just saying is all... |
ROFLMAO - yes I did... but that's no fun
@db: It doesn't lock automatically - I intentionally put one with a lock on it because I was paranoid about having my mics ripped... but I guess it doesn't matter because if most of my stuff would be gone, then what the heck would a a couple mics do?
I think I'll just leave the banged-up one on there as a reminder.

Oh Anthony, Anthony, Anthony. Well you are brave or foolhardy to admit what happened to this gang. They say the memory is the first to go. How's about having an extra key made and keeping it in your car? That way at least your car will get cleaned up periodially when your trying to remember where you put the key. Or how's about hanging a big "Beware of Dogs, Bears, and poisonous snakes" on the door? Whatever works for you. Best wishes!!

don't make me club you like a baby seal D.
I will so go totally ninja on your ass
Seriously though, it's a simple lock that anyone with more than a week's work of practice in lock picking could get past in a minute or two (alternatively a strong kick will also do the trick).
If you are concerned about theft, I'd recommend a good safe instead, particularly one that is not in general site.
I've used these folks for several of my valuables, and I highly recommend their devices.

The HiddenPassageway site is terrific. If you go there be sure to look at the catalog. Waaay cool switch devices. _________________ Ron Phillips

Anthony, this reminds me of the several times the morning guy at the radio station I used to work for, had to break in the station so he could get on the air! He had to force a window and crawl in Too funny! |

C'mon now folks. All he's got to do is get one of these and put it just outside his booth on the floor.
No one EVER thinks to look in the rock.
