A little something that brightened up an otherwise-dreary 2007 for me. The 1st and 2nd round NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament will have some games in Raleigh, and they've asked me to do the PA announcing for them.
Might even catch a little time on TV, which will verify why I don't do on-camera acting... |

My husband will know more about this than I do- he's a sports fanatic! We just drove through Chapel Hill over the weekend- we are in Charlotte.
We'll be watching- congratulations! Our friend J-Rob does the announcing for the Panthers and LOVES IT! _________________ Threadjackers local 420

Vance Elderkin, (and I wonder if we are?) - I'd insist on camera time like Don LaFontain at the Oscars.
Kate- I lived in Charlotte from 1954 - 58 and had family ties at USC, Chapel Hill. My dad was raised in Durham. It is really beautiful up there and I often wonder how my life would have been different had we stayed.
Congratulations to all an their good fortune! |

"Vance Elderkin, (and I wonder if we are?)"
Not likely, I think. The name was formed as "Elderkin" when my multi-great grandfather came over from England in 16-something.
However, I am supposedly related to anyone in North America with the name Elderkin, as we all come from the same guy on this continent.
If I get camera time, can I use your picture instead of my face? I like yours better...
(Wow...did I just get mentioned in the same breath with Don LaFontaine? Take about comparing a Ferrari with a Yugo...) |
