VO-BB - 20 YEARS OLD!

When I started as a voice over about 17 years ago I used to visit a studio called Ginger Music. After a few years a new assistant called Becky arrived, a "keen as mustard" teenager. A couple of years down the line Becky left Ginger to go and work in commercial production for a local radio station. Fast forward a few years. I arrive at Silk Sound in London and am met by the studio engineer, very petite yet elegant lady, she looks familiar and reminds me who she is - Becky. She tells me she's had enough of London and is moving back to the south coast and will be freelancing, she has launched herself onto the voice over market.

Fast forward to today. If you tune you radio to BBC Radio 1 - The national radio station in the UK if you are about 20 years younger than me the female station voice for imaging and promo's is Becky.

Congratulations to another overnight success, who was just lucky, had the right coloured mic lead and attended 356 classes, had 10 coaches and read all the books. Or may be she served an apprenticeship, got her head down and worked................. No, that would never work. I smell the work of Ricky the Magic Pixie again.
