#1 I don't like the take sheet I've been using

#2 I can't find it on my computer-- must have deleted it in frustration

#3 I've just been scribbling on paper for the last couple of weeks

#4 I have a complex phone patch session with a new client in the morning and I'm gonna need a decent take sheet.

#5 HELP!

Amy,

Check your email. I sent along something that might work until you can find yours.

Don-- you are a hero! That is so much better than the one I was using-- it just didn't have enough room for notes and the lines were just too close together for my biggish handwriting!

You, my dear, are so awesome!!!

Don,
Do you have enough to share with the rest of the class?

Happy to oblige. As I said, it's not perfect, but it might be "good enough". You should be able to grab it from here, but let me know if you can't.

http://www.vo-to-go.com/VO-BBstuff/takesheet.pdf

P.S. That's a direct download, but it's a very small file, so it'll be quick. In case you want to get an idea of what it looks like before you download, here's a little pic.

P.P.S. You'll have to print them yourself. Smile

Humph... 'learn sumthin new every day!

I've seen rundowns and line-ups and shot sheets, but 'never heard of a "take sheet"

Couldn't you just as well prepare a Word.doc form that you could type into, instead having to resort to (the slower) pen and paper?

respectfully,

Dave C.

Not usually. The screen is full of audio editing. If there is a second screen, it has copy on it. A clipboard with a take sheet may be old school, but it's fast, handy, you can write on it while looking at waveforms on your screen...

It helps me stay organized during a complex session (and I had one of those today. I'm still recovering from it.)

Dave... can you use this for a Take Sheet? You can fill it in.

I'm still a newb at this folks...'never ran into a situation yet where I couldn't type faster than I could write, just by opening another window...

heck, I never ran into a situation yet that Amy described... can't wait for the day when I DO, actually

I know this will sound like I am really green but the truth is I am at the yellow stage (haven't made it to green yet) What the heck is a Take Sheet used for?

Ron,

To keep track of the various takes, which makes editing much easier because you can skip the "bad" takes and concentrate on editing the good takes.
