Hi, can I achieve broadcast/network quality results doing an impromptu celebrity interview with a top-of-the-line, Zoom-type product with no other gear involved if the room is reasonably quiet?

If the answer is a firm, 'NO,' what are your suggestions for getting that quality of result in a very small kit?

Thanks! |

A pro-broadcaster friend uses one all the time and gets great results. When she started, just before the American Civil War, she was handed a UHER.

Yes, those ran on kerosene, if I recall, and you had to have a window open.

What's that stuff on the spools at the back?

(And thanks for the affirmation re. the broadcast quality of the Zoom-type handhelds |

any of the Zoom units that accept an XLR mic connection will capture whatever you send with a quality recording. It all depends on the quality of your incoming signal.

garbage in = garbage out

quality in = quality out |

				Zoom in - Zoom out.

BTW, those 'things' on the back of the UHER...I think they were called floppy discs. Or maybe they are turntables. |
