My memory was jogged just now when I ran across a couple of unused padded envelopes that, back in the Days of Olde, were used to mail compact discs. The memory also provided a humorous anecdote (aka face palm).

I had ordered 100 6.75" x 9" padded envelopes. When it arrived, the package contained 100 loose padded envelopes...

Sounds like a predecessor to today’s Amazon packaging team. They sent me a package the size of two decks of playing cards in a box big enough to hold a whole ISDN codec and filled it with lots of plastic air balloons. What a waste.
