I'm pretty certain, when I bought what appears to be a different distributor's version of the exact same LED night lamps back in 2016, that they were listed or certified by Underwriters Laboratories. I doubt I would've bought them otherwise, and they've been in use since then, with not a hint of trouble.

While they remain plugged in all the time, they generate no heat, and are actuated by an ambient light sensor.

But one of them recently began showing signs of age, I guess. The light source on each side is made up of a cluster of small LEDs, and some of them are no longer working and others are flickering. While that, in itself, doesn't pose a problem, I now must ask your opinion: because there is no familiar "UL Listed" insignia on the lamps themselves (I can only guess it was on the package, if it was anywhere), would YOU still feel confident in using these lamps?

Thanks.

Let's see... 5 years of use times 365 days per year, time 12 average hours a day of use works out to 21,900 hours of "burning". The few times I see LED life expectancy I see figures of 10,000 to 30,000 hours. Sounds like your lights have lasted a normal amount of time.

LED lights, especially when they're in a cluster of tiny ones, use very little electricity (you've noted they never feel warm) so the chance of them causing a serious heat or fire problem sounds very close to zero.

New LED night lights are plentiful and cheap. I say just buy some new ones and alay your worries.

Thanks, Bruce.

My main concern was the electrical integrity or quality, as it relates to UL certification. This, because of three condo units here that were destroyed in November by a fire that was blamed on an electrical arc in one of the units' circuit breaker panel. I'm waiting for mine to be replaced. Maybe I'm just a bit over-cautious.

As someone who has gone through a fire, I say set your mind at ease and get rid of them. Our family has done this regularly when it feels sketchy and could cause a fire. It is worth the peace of mind.
