Here's another video collection of actors voicing animated characters. I found it interesting that Johnny Depp recorded his Rango role in an open studio, roving around and using props as inspiration. I guess when you're Depp you can do it any way you want.

It wasn't just Depp. This is how the entire cast was recorded. The director wanted the performances to feel more like a live action movie. And the performances were filmed as well for inspiration for the animators. I actually passed on it as I do not do well with memorization.

Tried my hand at doing animation once...

Of course at the time...I had no idea it was going to be animation but...
