...what little things might I not be thinking of that I'll need? I'm mounting a monitor, will have the patch panel, ventilation, lighting...any "having this saved my ass" suggestions?

Cheers!

Whatever cables (power, audio, cat6, mic, etc.) you think you need to run into the booth, add a few more. Whatever length you think you need those cables to extend into the room from wherever you pass them through the wall, make them a few feet longer.

Lee's words are wise.

I would also add that it's hard to overspecify your isolation and treatments. If there's something you can do to make sure the whole reason for a booth--a place to work that is sonically reliable--any better, then do it. Assuming said measure is not fiscally irresponsible or in the realm of diminishing returns (and here I look at audiophiles with a gently shaking head, me among them).

To that end, if you can gain another foot of height at a reasonable cost (in terms of money, time, and effort), do that. If you can gain more space in general, and not lose isolation or treatment integrity, then do that too.

Oh, and if you could take pictures along the way, that would be cool.

To sum up the entire set of advice from everyone previous - "whatever you think you need - double it"!

Small booths are difficult at best to isolate and make sound good, so the bigger the better for a home studio. Sound is interesting and when it comes to small and microphones - make sure to give it some "air".

be careful of your dimensions. Use Bob Gold's room mode page.https://www.bobgolds.com/Mode/RoomModes.htm to make sure you don't build a boom room.

And think "Water tight" if there are cracks, sound gets in.

I did the room mode page, and have no idea if what I got was good or bad. The booth will be 7x5x7, covered in Auralex.

If it's not too late, avoid Auralex. It is not a good treatment for rooms and will leave you wondering why things sound so bad despite all your sponges. True bass traps and panels are the way to go for good sound. You can build such panels yourself; if you're interested, Tim Tippets put out a wonderful YouTube video on just how to do it.
