Is it just me who is puzzled by the things voiceover people brag about?

"I once thought about auditioning for Disney but my Dog needed a brush. Hey, but I get a buncha other opportunities, mainly Opera versions of Medical Narration. And I am SO not even Italian! But I dig Pasta."

This post is followed by.

"Dave, when I grow up I SO wanna be you!"

Those whom are the beginnings of the world of voiceover, tend to have a lot of time on their hands - er, lips.

"There is a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot."

Some people live in a virtual world and are entitled to be given their dreams instead of creating them.

my wife, not in a kind way, said "you live in your own little world."
i said, "yep, and it's usually quiet here."

There seems to be a notion that Not Being Quiet is important. (Todd, I refer not to your actually very witty, if points-losing, rejoinder; you at least gained points with me, though they buy you precious little.)

A day has gone by; I must Post.
Someone else posted about a job. Gerry, hold my beer.
I am being the sad one. Time to turn things around... with a Post.

Arguably, I've just engaged in the same behavior. Don't I feel fine!

Oh GOOD! I'm going to post something now.

Really. I was actually about to when I saw this. And I'm going to.

Philip may make me do 10 consecutive circuits around the train tracks with Bess for breaking the no-bragging rule. But I don't care. So there.

Saying "I like this and I enjoyed doing it" is not bragging when everyone else is able to see/hear your point. Not every day is exceptional so we need to celebrate, not brag.

From an extremely broad perspective, there are only two stages in a VO career:

"They pay me to talk and I'm on TV!!!!"

and

"...time to make the donuts."

Meanwhile:
"I had a great audition today... I'd tell you about it but I signed an NDA."
