Eddie, those were really cool tracks you laid down!

I enjoyed the spacey, trippy thingy you were doing. Smile

Thanks Bruce, glad you enjoyed it. It's fun to lay down raw stuff on a new toy.

Delay, reverb and distortion pedals are a blast.

Hey John it's a 91 Firebird V
Is yours a sunburst or solid color...you know the sound is affected by the color Smile
76 model should be worth some good coin these days!

Hey Ian
Glad you like it.
I'm using a Keeley Loomer that is a reverb and fuzz, MXR Distortion + 2000 series and a newer Echoplex pedal. I had an original Echoplex around 1980 and sold it many moons ago so I got the pedal version.

That cut is some raw beef so the mix is not great.

a nicely transitioned classic sunburst.
technically a F-III. there are oddly many variations to the finish on these...
coin schmoyn, this thing is personal.
Cubby Koda is the inspiration

So a 3 pick up bird. Cool! Those are nice... i would have liked a natural finish but the sunburst is a great look. is yours a bicentennial? Post a pic or some jam!

Stephen Stills and Johnny Winters influenced my decision as well as that guitar being a Gibson that has a range of tone of a strat and a Gibson. The mini humbuckers are better than I expected. Slide sounds great on it too.

I just picked up a monterey pedal that has a killer combo of modulation to give you the Hendrix in a box sound. Actually the rotary and fuzz is what I enjoy most. I'll record a bit of it some time.

... The mini humbuckers are better than I expected. "

Gibson has never been known for consistency within a model...
If i have my memory intact a
F-I is the single PU simple dot inlay, stop tailpiece
F-III is double PU simple inlay, stop, 'matic or vibro
F-V is double PU trap inlay matic or vibro
F-VII is 3 PU trap inlay, 'matic or vibro
all have whacky straight-thru banjo tuners
and the unique Firebird PU's (mini's are different)

The '76 bicentennial is a III with a tune-o-matic
gold hardware and a red-white&blue logo, most were the lovely classic mahagony stain with a 'burst fade-to-black at the edge. A few were done in solid colors

lemme record something... and we can collab!

Love the gold accent on those. The Firebird Mini Humbuckers are a unique feature on the guitar that are different from the regular mini.

I was thinking of the vii with the 3 pick ups.

I don't get the Firebird out that often. It was a '76 birthday thing that I still try to understand... so it's special
But the last time was with a reason.
Friend who's a singer songwriter is invited regularly (along with some 30 other performers) to be part of an annual fundraiser in Annapolis Md. It's a long day with a theme devoted to a different legendary musician each year, The drill is that each performer comes and does one song by The Theme Artist and then one of their own songs (that in some way references the theme artist)... and then they;re done and it's fast-stage-change to the next performer. .. all day long.
Theme that year was CSNY, and Ray wrote an ANGRY political CSNY-style song and wanted a full band. There aren't that many angry CSNY songs and I decided to dig in for inspiration as to a style for arrangements and hooks and realised that several of the songs I thought of, actually PREDATED CSNY as Buffalo Springfield and such, and the common thread was Steve Stills and his certain ugly modal guitar solo and rhythm tone. Firebird .
We did TEACH YOUR CHILDREN first (Ahron on pedal steel was perfect) and then lit up into Ray's RESIST song. This off-stage video is all there is, a stagehand by me and the bassist with camera sound.
I get to run the FB thru 2 lead sounds and 2 rhythm sounds... amp is the backline-supplied Twin (on like --3--!) about all I think I'm using on the pedalboard is the EH GLOVE and A clean compressor added for the bridge pretty solo.

Love the vibe of that live song! Great stuff. What a great idea behind those jams.

Luca is one talented player too. Great using that pistola as a pick.

Keep playing, you never know what melody you will find.
I always loved the spaghetti western tunes.
