I am thinking about getting a de-reverb plug-in and wonder if anyone has any thoughts, pro or con, on one of these. Naturally, I don't want to spend any more than I have to, but effectiveness and ease of use are the more important factors. In ascending order of price, the ones I'm looking at are:

SPL De-Verb ($49)
Accusonus ERA4 Reverb Remover ($59)
Acon DeVerberate ($99)
iZotope De-Reverb (only available as part of RX7 package -- Standard $199)

I've not used the de-verb module yet, but the mouth de-click and the background de-noiser in RX7 are exceptional and well worth the price, IMO. I use the de-click on almost every v-o I record or produce, and the de-noiser did a great job eliminating wind from some field recordings I was working with.

Edit to add: while you can use the RX7 plug-ins in other software (I use SoundForge), I've found that it works better and faster in the RX7 standalone app.

I'm interested in seeing what's recommended. I've got some video game voices of mine that are only available for lifting off the web with lots of reverb, which some tell me is a no-no for demos.

Not really, but I do get a tiny bit of reflection because my space is small and square. Not enough for most clients to notice, but those with the most finely tuned ears might. Not much I can do about the configuration of the space, so I figure I can play with one of these to see if it makes a difference. If it doesn't make an improvement, or introduces artifacts, I won't bother. Hence the desire to not spend a lot.

I have RX7 Elements and occasionally use the de-noiser from that. And although I haven't had a problem with mouth clicks lately, I have found that the plain de-click in Elements works perfectly well. Most of the other plugins in RX7 seem like they're for music or otherwise not things I would use much, so unless the iZotope de-reverb is demonstrably better than the others, I'd rather not spend the extra cash.
