little do they know, it started out as 283 words of copy until the director, engineer, consultant and 6 members of the client's creative team batted it around the control room for an hour and a half while philip ate a sandwich.

Minimalism at its best.
As Todd said, it probably started life as a five-minute mini-documentary extolling the virtues of Volvo and their track record of Swedish reliability, durability, and safety. But we already know all that from the decades of previous campaigns... so it doesn't need to be said. A lesson for copywriters everywhere.
