...until you've done revisions in between hammer-gun strikes by the workmen redoing the floors on the Saturday you asked them to work since weekdays are out.
Thank God for short copy. _________________ Jack Daniel

When I worked at WNOE/New Orleans, the station was in an old 3 story bldg in the French Quarter. In the studio, which overlooked Bienville St on the 2nd floor, we had actual windows that would open. The year before the World's Fair, workmen started tearing up and replacing the sidewalks outside. Jack hammers for a week! _________________ "When I was your age, we had to dial to get online"

My sin is that I asked them specifically to come on the weekend, when I was "sure" I wouldn't have to work. Pretty sure "sure" doesn't mean what I think it means. _________________ Jack Daniel

I used to do work for a guy whose studio was in the non-air-conditioned attic of a Victorian house that was directly beneath the flight path for one of the runways of the airport, about 7-8 miles away. When the weather was hot, we had to open the windows. If that runway was in use, it made for longer sessions. But that's not all. In the same town as the studio, less than two miles away, was an explosives manufacturer, with a bomb range on site, where they would frequently test their products. _________________ Lee Gordon, O.A.V.

Portgordon - The early years. Late one summer afternoon I emerged from my booth having just completed an ISDN session and noticed the light outside my office behaving rather oddly. Why? the house two away from mine was an inferno. Two Fire Appliances, an Ambulance and the Police were in attendance. I didn't hear a thing. |
