The late, great Mel Torme told a story that happened after a show in which Rich Little had opened for him. The marquee read:

RICH LITTLE

MEL TORME

A Swedish man came up to him and incredulously demanded "who do you think you are?" Torme was stunned and asked the gentlemen what he was so upset about. The man replied, "What an obnoxious way to bill yourself --- 'Rich Little Mel Torme'!"

I was once in a Goth band called Skeletal Family.

we were sailing to Holland to do a gig in Amsterdam, and the ferry folks could not find our booking. Panic ensued, because we thought the booker had reneged on his promise to pay the ferry. After many frantic phone calls, and just as we were resigned to staying in the UK, reloading our equipment into the van, and as the ferry was beginning to pull away, they found our booking,

They had given us a family cabin, for Mr. and Mrs. Skeletal and two children, which they had assumed we had because there were 4 of us. I guess the 4 of us in our black clothes and eyeliner did not compute as possible matches for the booking.

We shared the cabin and made the gig.
