Since around 2004 when I stopped doing something in my business and as a result gained hours of extra time plus a 50% increase in income by the end of the year, no set of numbers have proved of any real use. NONE. Of course I am not referring to basic accounting as we all need to do that.
When I started work in 2019 the first thing I did was perform major surgery so that all I could "measure" was relevance. The surgery removed history, probability, chance and serendipity because the sum total of all the information in those numbers equalled Hake.
New rule?
"Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen pounds nineteen shillings and six pence, result happiness. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pounds ought and six, result misery." Mr Micawber |
