As I lie here in bed with a concussion and a nose that a Klingon would be proud of, having been assaulted by a 2 x 4 this weekend while working on something in the garage, I was wondering if I was the only idiot around who had to visit the local emergency room after a weekend project turned into an episode of ER. Share please so I can stop feeling like a moron. _________________ Pam Tierney

Well, it wasn't a weekend, but I was at the gym one morning about a year ago and had a colossal "otherworldly" dream cascade all of a sudden.
Thinking I was having a stroke, I drove myself to my Doctor's office (after stopping for coffee) but they sent me to the ER.
They guess it was a migraine.
Still- it was a whole day in the ER simply from working out at the gym. _________________ DBCooperVO.com |

Pam! You need a Chore Boy to circumvent concussions! 'Twasn't this weekend but last when I fell off my mountain bike FOUR times. That gravelly steep trail in Sun Valley b#*ch-slapped me silly so I have many bruises as emblems. Ish. It was SourGirl all the way, exemplified in my avatar... _________________ sitting at #8, though not as present as I'd like to be. Hello!

Working overnight at a semi-automated radio station. A solid hour of music and IDs are programmed, so I go to the production studio to get some editing done. On my way out, I trip over a chair with my left leg. My right leg plants awkwardly, right kneecap positions itself on the wrong side, tearing the ligament.
This was 21 years ago. The knee still hurts...
EDIT: Gah! Had my left and right mixed up. _________________ Great Voice. Great Choice. For Voice Talking and stuff.

Okay...I'll play!!
Our house was getting a laminate floor. Our cats pee'd in the bathroom. So I squatted down to clean it up and upon standing my left knee let out the loudest pop I have ever heard. "Humm!" I said and began to walk...or limp away, it didn't feel too bad. I then put my little kiddo into the car and drove to her daycare. I then tried to get out of the car and almost fell to my very painful knees!
Okay so what do you do?
I hobbled to her room, dropped her off, and promptly called my doctor, who could not see me for about 4 hours. So I played gopher for the handyman and hobbled around most of the day.
Ended up tearing my MCL in my left knee just becuase the cat pee'd on the floor!!
What a day!
That was about four months ago and the knee still pains me, when I laugh!
Ouch!

I was in Pennsylvania over the weekend visiting a friend and joined his softball team for its game yesterday morning. In the first inning I had a long fly ball hit over my head. I ran back for it and, wanting to make a good impression on my temporary teammates, made a full-out dive for the ball, but it bounced off my glove. Fortunately the ground was kind of wet and mushy, so I slid and took up a large divot with my knee. But somewhere in that landing I wrenched my shoulder a bit, and I'm feeling it today. I think throwing is going to be painful for a while.
Which is not exactly convenient, because in about an hour I'm leaving to join my own team for a doubleheader tonight! |

Had a pretty tame, safe weekend. Wouldn't be surprised if the dog is limping a bit though

Thanks guys, I feel better already. The black eyes are going to be beauts in a day or so but I am less woozy tonight and will return to the world tomorrow. _________________ Pam Tierney

I'm a dirt biker. Just a trail rider these days, but I used to race off-road motorcycle events called "Enduros". There are many, many ways to damage or break many, many parts of a motorcycle and even more ways to damage, injure or break even more parts of the human body. I've got a shoulder that sounds like a garbage disposer when I move my arm just right. The grandkids think it's "cool". |

Pam, apologies for launching right into "me me me" without expressing my condolences. I sure hope you don't have any on camera work planned for the near future or if you do, that it's a Halloween special...
Glad you're on the mend. |

About a year ago, I fell down one..that's right...one simple step leading to my garage while carrying a weed wacker and broke my leg. Now that's stoopit. _________________ www.voiceoverdrew.com

Saturday night I was watching an old movie on TCM when I realized my wine glass was empty. I stood up and experienced mild vertigo but made it safely to the kitchen for another glass of Cabernet. Living on the edge like that can turn you into an adrenaline junkie! |
