Umm...I know I'm pretty new here and this is sort of off topic, but I want to post what I did with some audio recorded on a boom box! This is a gear chat, right? Well, this is music, but I did with the same gear I use for VO!

The singer is a girl I went to high school with. I pitched the idea to her of doing a song I wrote and she didn't seem too interested. (For some reason she's never pursued her talent). She's been posting YouTube clips of her singing and original songs on Facebook, so I covertly appropriated a track to see if I could build a full band version out of it.

First, here's the original. This is the same audio I used:

...and here's the song I built around it:

Once again, sorry to be an off-topic newb. But it's sorta on topic.

Oh! I meant to say that yes, it gets out of time in spots. That's because obviously she didn't record this with a metronome, so when I tried to add a drum track, I had to try to make the tempo in the computer follow her loose timing. I read a tip to do this by doing a tap tempo every few measures and seeing what the average was, and setting the tempo to that, recalibrating whenever she noticeably went off again.

In other words yes, I know it's a little "off." I can't think of everything!

Once again, sorry to go off the topic of VO! Uh, I used Cakewalk Home Studio and a Mackie 1402 VLZ Pro mixer for this. THERE! Back on topic.

Both links are to the same mixed audio track, but I can guess what the original sounded like. She's good and your work was quite good.

Creating things in audio is a delightful art.

How did I know I was going to do that? Link fixed! And thank you very much for the compliment!
