So I'm on the road and need to record and all I have is a pair of In-Ear Monitors that have a built-in microphone (Marshall EQ, plugs into iPad's headphone jack).
I brought my Apogee MiC which plugs into the lightning port.
Recording is gonna be on the iPad Air (older, still has the headphone jack/port and lightning port) through the 'Audioshare' app.

I'm wondering how I effectively turn off the headphone's microphone so that I only record the Apogee MiC.
Thanks,

It's a 4-cond plug with the mic on the oddbal ring so, aside from a software button somewhere to MUTE it, I'd say surgery Exclamation to clip the mic cable ...
or , if i am right and the mic is the little module on the wire thats not the volume control, wrap the mic in a sock and tape the hell out of it so it's deaf.

Update: audioshare defaulted to the MiC. I'd be curious to see what ios does when both headphone and mic need the same lightning port.
