I always pronounce FDIC as f-Dick. That saves a good third of a second right there.
(and it drives newbie copywriters or producers nuts as they try to explain to me how I should pronunce it) (sic)

Oh, and a little bit of heaven today...I did an ISDN session with 5 spec :30 TV VO's for an east coast power company, and they said "since they're not going to air we don't care how long they are...just relax and be conversational...take your time."
You don't hear that every day!

yeah-- but we had to eviscerate it.
And I still had to read like a maniac.
I've learned, though, that you can read the damnedest stuff and NOT sound like a weasel on meth if you keep your vocal timbre low and purposely limit your range.
Not a monotone-- but a read over fewer "notes" is a lot smoother and quicker. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

That's a direction you hardly ever hear: "For this one, we'd like you to sound like a weasel on meth."

Pam,
That does not sound like a winning proposition. Maybe it would be better not to know? _________________ Be well,

Tip your waitresses please! Perhaps a bit too much vitriol in my coffee this morning. Didn't mean to come off sounding nasty, just couldn't resist the cliche. _________________ Pam Tierney

Pam,
I didn't think you sounded nasty. I hope I didn't come across that way either. _________________ Be well,
