I am having some audio glitches with the Scarlette 2i2. Anyone else have this? I have read a lot of work around online but damn! I didn't buy the thing to have to adjust my bios! Btw Guitar Center wont take it back because I downloaded the software. Joy.

OK... that's just ODD... GC (at least the one here south of Baltimore) has NEVER refused to take ANYTHING back... at all....

I talked to a guy there... he says indeed this is a Problem...
as I understand it, many of these devices get registered, and that opens up software access and other things which are then LOCKED TO THAT OWNER AND COMPUTER... and thus cannot be returned because they are useless to anyone else at that point.
he DID say that the way OUT of this is for the customer to go to the MANUFACTURER (Focusrite in this case) and arrange with them to UN-REGISTER the thing. Whatever that process is, once that is done, GC can take it back.

A little more information about your setup might help troubleshoot the problem. A description of your system (computer, OS, processor type/speed, RAM, etc). Also, which generation of the Scarlett (1st or 2nd) and did you install the appropriate driver for your OS/computer? What software are you currently having problems with? Does the device work with other applications?

It could be as simple as a bad USB cable or under powered USB port. Have you tried switching cables and/or ports? Are you plugged directly into the computer (not through a USB hub which might cause power issues or USB bus sharing problems). If a laptop, does the glitching happen whether you are on battery or plugged in?

I have a 2nd Gen Scarlett Solo that works well on a 2012 Macbook Pro running OS 10.11 . From online posts, it does appear that Windows users have experienced some driver issues. Uninstalling and trying a newer or older Focusrite driver might help. Or you can try the ASIO4ALL driver.

I had a 2i2 and moved up to an 18i8 (a podcast may be in my future with a few buddies). The 2i2 had a really weird effect where everything was slowed down and distorted when the computer went to sleep. Haven't had the same issue with the 18.

Don't know that this helps much...
