As I watched the weather on TV the other night I noticed they said that Carterville had 7+ inches of rain that day. I said to myself I think that's where Todd Ellis lives. I guess I was right.

i got VERY little sleep that night listening to the sump pump kicking on & off & praying it would keep doing so!

then - this morning, i got a twitter response from CNN asking if they could use the footage & what i would charge. since i don't have my commercial UAV license yet - charging would be a no-no. i just told him he could use it & uploaded the 4k footage for him.

That is amazing that they found it and asked. Technology - I love it. I hate it. I sort of understand it...then I don't.

I feel for you. There's nothing you can do in a flood except leave and when you return the damage is overwhelming. Glad you're not there yet.

Here in Portland, OR, we've had the second wettest winter on record. Since October 1st we've had 149 days of rain. Normally we have rain in the winter, but there's some nice periods interspersed. This year it's just been relentless.

Good luck with everything. And if you want to sell footage to CNN, give it to me. I'm sure I could do it with no entanglements. I could be like Voices.com. Conceal the rate, take 95% and give you the rest. Ooops, did I say that?

As I said, good luck with everything!

I remember seeing salmon in flooded lands around Washington crossing the highway and roads.

Holy crap, Todd!! Excellent video, though. I can see why CNN wanted to use it.

You make me want to get a drone.
We've had so much rain up here in Maine that the sun was becoming a dream. I'm surprised our sump pump hasn't run away yet.
