I've been burning the midnight oil around here, storing up voice tracks and doing a lot of weathercasting. Then today, when I had planned to sleep, I got called into a studio down in the city to do a bunch of cable TV commercials.
Halfway through a seeming eternity inside the smallest Whisper Room they sell-- you know, the one you have to order according to dress size-- I realized that:
I HAVE A SORE THROAT!
I cannot, can NOT have a sore throat right now. I have jobs booked out the wazoo. What do I do to make it all better NOW?

Amy,
This may or may not help , BUT- down here, there is an old home remedy for colds/flu/ THE CRUD! It may not apply to a sore throat- BUT with modifing it some, or even as is, it just may help!
The old " Hot Toddy "- Honey, Lemmon, and Whiskey.
The Whiskey helps break up congestion, The Lemmon has a LOT of Vitman C to help dry things up, and the Honey helps coat/soothe the throat plus it has a lot of protein.
Hope your throat gets better SOON,
Don |

This weekend I had swollen glands and sniffles and malaise, and I needed to be in good form for Monday commitments. I hauled out the Zicam nasal gel and started using it every 4 hours and was pretty much back to normal by Monday. |

And if you use enough Whiskey, you won't care if you have a sore throat..... |

Thanks everyone! (Even those of you who are trying to kill me with whiskey and turmeric!) I think I'm feeling a little better this morning (not much sleep, but I have an 8:00am hard deadline.)
It appears to be my right ear and tonsil. No congestion, no nuthin' else. I think I'll head off to the doctor if it's still bothering me at lunch time...
I want to go to bed.

I certainly hope you didn't combine the whiskey and the turmeric!

I second that about Mrs. Beasley. Mine's still in the attic. A few years back, I saw there was someone who restores the talking mechanism for Mrs. Beasley dolls. But alas, mine shall remain mute.
No more:
"If you could have three wishes, what would you wish for?"
"Long ago, I was a little girl just like you."

Where can I get one of those? I could use some jobs. You think I can get a used one on eBay? |
I don't know anyone with an extra wazoo. I think you pretty much have to grow your own...
