I have a number of files (audio) ab0-a1-b2-c3 and alt options need naming the same except opening will be ab1 instead of ab0. Is there is quick way of doing this? Files are mp3s ...Or do I have to rename 51 files one at a time?

Philip,

If you're using Windows, you can do batch renaming, but I'm not sure the results will be exactly what you want.

Select all of the files. Copy. Paste. (Now you have your duplicate files.)

Select only the newly duplicated files. Hit the F2 key (the one up at the top of your keyboard) and enter the name of the first of your files as you wish it to be. The rest will be renamed in sequence.

Moe,

You're welcome, but I believe it was someone else who posted this trick here a few years ago so I can't take credit for anything except remembering it. And posting, I guess. Ninja
