Since VOers are mostly heard and not seen, I'm not familiar with some of the bigger names in the industry.
I know a few... LaFontaine, Cipriano, etc.
Can you rattle off some of them? I'd love to check them out and see what's selling. |

The good ones are the Voice Over artists who remove entries from their CV's (Resumēs). Most VO's include more padding than a Canadian Doughnut eating champion. In 1995 one of the top earners in the UK was Enn Rietel who was reported to have been paid £3,500,000. Inflation adjust that for 2006 prices and convert to US dollars that would make it $10,000,000.
When you're in Peter "Don who?" O'Connells league, that's when the big bucks roll in. |

Ben Patrick Johnson....Mike McColl....Ashton Smith....The Godfather......All the peeps at Prime Time Voices. But most of those guys sound like their 7-feet tall and have been smoking cigarettes since they were 7....not all but some of them.
I hear Brian Lee and Steve Stone more and more.....or least people that sound just like them (not sure). _________________ Ben

If you're looking for dollars per read as a measure, try some of the actors doing VO, such as Gene Hackman for Lowe's. _________________ VO-BB Member #31 Enlisted June, 2005

Agreed. Her commercial demo is so bubbly, I got winded just from listening...
One of my favorites is Anne DeWig. Great imaging voice and versatile, too.
Her Rock imaging demo makes me, um, feel tingly. _________________ Great Voice. Great Choice. For Voice Talking and stuff.

I almost wish these people had mediocre voices as it would encourage those who aspire to Voice talking greatness not to listen to how they sound but how they perform ................ I ain't whatcha say it's the way that ya say it. |

While I agree how they perform is what ultimately leads to their longevity in the business - I believe it is how they sound that gets their foot in the door (or booth) in the first place. _________________ Elaine

How about Allison Janney? For animation, Pat Fraley (of course), Bob Bergen, Stephen Root, Nancy Cartwright...

I had no idea a voice talent could play such good football. _________________ Great Voice. Great Choice. For Voice Talking and stuff.
