I read that earlier and was a bit shocked. Then I was shocked that I was shocked. That guy's been dancing on the edge for years...
Still quite sad. No doubt he loved his work...we should all be so enthusiastic.

And that he wasn't killed by an animal that he was playing with at the time is a bit interesting. But he was in the middle of shooting something called "The Ocean's Most Dangerous Animals". _________________ VO-BB Member #31 Enlisted June, 2005

Destiny underscored. It's very rare to be killed by a stingray's sting but this one got him up and under the ribcage, through the heart. Ouch. And crikey to the nth. R.I.P. _________________ sitting at #8, though not as present as I'd like to be. Hello!

It's sad to hear about Steve Irwin passing like that, but I wonder if he ever felt that he would engage death by the animals he loved?
Animal Planet... Discovery Channel... and TLC have pulled all of his shows for the time being... maybe till after the funeral.

They pulled his shows?!?! Wow. That's the exact opposite of what I would have done. I'd put more of his stuff on, celebrate his life and champion his causes. I'm quite sure that's what he would have wanted. _________________ Hart Voice Overs Blog

Despite his sometimes annoying sayings....I loved that guy and his shows. He did one show I saw with gorrillas that was amazing. He was a master with animals. May he rest in peace. _________________ Ben

my kids were devastated by the news. he will be sorely missed round our house. A number of years ago i was approached to do "the Crocodile Hunter voice" for a client. I passed muster with a friends kids in Sydney, first and then the client.
Irwin was chastised a bit for "overdoing the Aussie thing" but when I spoke to another friend in Sydney he said Quote: | Many Aussies myself included, used to cringe with embarrassment at Steve's over use of Aussie lingo. He was asked about this in an interview, and his response was along the lines that Australia has a wonderful language all its own. Unfortunately our (Aussie) kids are watching so much crap American TV, our own language is being lost and replaced by Hollywood speak. Steve wanted to highlight the fact that we have our own very colourful language and was unappologetic about overdoing it to make his point.
