During my junior and senior years in college, I worked for this little AM/FM combo in Sharon, PA. Among my Saturday morning duties was to "engineer" Casey's show. That meant playing 3 LP records over the course of three hours, while assembling the hourly news reports and anchoring them, hitting the breaks, answering the phone from listeners who wanted to talk to Casey, etc. Fortunately, they had one other guy just spinning "CHR" records on the FM side, "Youngstown's Hit Station Y-103". However, I do recall a few Saturday mornings, usually when the 8 AM guy failed to show up due to hangover, having to run the whole shebang!
Later, Casey's show came in on tape, three of 'em.
I hope they get this sorted out. _________________ www.voiceoverdrew.com

I just read several stories about this. What a sad thing. I hope they find him and can get him back to caring family members. _________________ Charter Member: Threadjackers Local 420 |

I think only those who listened faithfully every Saturday without fail to "American Top 40" can appreciate how important Casey Kasem was to us. In those days, there was no one who could touch him. He was the king of the countdown! _________________ "I reserve the right to be completely wrong." |

I listen to his AT40 re-broadcasts all the time on Sirius XM. Sounds great and no commercials. They make for a nice little time capsule, especially the shout outs to the local stations, with some that have long switched formats.
As for his wife, she's a controlling, manipulative b*tch. |

Growing up in LA in the 80's, there was a "border blaster" AM station that used to broadcast his show. (The Mighty 690.) I used to listen to American Top 40 every Saturday. This was when the J. Giles Band's "Freeze Frame" was number one. Its funny: I used to get so excited that a band I liked was number one. Like it really meant something.
It's so sad that Parkinsons has silenced this man's voice. He's a broadcasting legend. _________________ www.MarleyAudio.com |

"Keep your feet on the ground, and keep reaching for the stars." Casey rocks, I hope he is found and returned to caring family members. I remember the long-distance dedications. I also listen to the rebroadcasts on one of our local hits stations that play them every Saturday morning (I do believe). _________________ Kevin Scheuller

I wonder if the authorities have a list of the top forty places he is likely to be located. _________________ Lee Gordon, O.A.V.

They'd probably be able to find him, if it weren't for those meddling kids.

I loved him as Shaggy. He created a unique complete character. How did he get cast as that? _________________ Skype: globalvoiceover
