Help - once again, I add a piece of something to my computer and it screws up something else. I added a webcam.
Audition is working fine - it is using my Gina card.
But Word2WAV now is recording so that I sound too fast and I cannot remember how to fix this. This has happened before, but my brain is confused...
I also just did a beta test on Read2Record - and it was recording using the new webcam instead of the sound card, so that sounded bad, but not like a chipmonk.
(I hate this...I have 30 long pickups with ridiculous file names that I wanted to use W2W to do, but I can't because I sound ridiculous...) _________________ Playing for a living...

I have an old Gina card as my sound card and could the new webcam I installed to try to use Skype instead of my phone patch have had something to do with this?
Audition is working fine - both record and playback. The new Read2Record program I am beta testing records, but I am not hearing any playback.
Double whammy W2W - it is recording so that it plays back with the chipmunk sound and I can't hear any playback until I open the file in another DAW.
I just un-installed the webcam and rebooted and that didn't work.
Any ideas on...
1) The playback issue in R2R and W2W
2) The chipmunk issue in W2W _________________ Playing for a living...

Try using the standard windows drivers on your recording software., it sounds like there is a conflict. You might also have issues with one device at 48k and another at 44.1k or even 22k. I'm not sure what the bitrate for Skype is. Check and see what you have for default in the control panel "Sound" settings.
It's why I tell folks - 1 computer, shut down background tasks, disconnect from the internet, disable the computers built-in sound card, strictly for recording.
When I have people direct me via Skype, I run it on a different system and use my little board to route stuff. Left earpiece has me (no delay) - right earpiece has clients (a little delay).
I can get Skype and my recording software to play nice on the same system, but not with the same driver. It used to work a while back, but hasn't for a year or more. _________________ j.s. gilbert

Thank you to my friend Scott Higby here in San Diego, he was able to troubleshoot from my wandering phone call to him and I think I am back in business on Audition and W2W.
R2R is still not playing back. So I will take that up with the developer.
And if you asked me WHAT the problem was, I wouldn't be able to tell you. I clicked far to many tabs and drop downs to be able to figure it out. It was probably installing the new R2R with the webcam installed and it defaulted to 22k and from there things snowballed. _________________ Playing for a living...
