I would love to hear RAP's CD for August. Anyone know if I can buy a copy or must I be a subscriber?

For VO, is RAP worth the $115 annual subscription?

I'm curious-- what's on it?

Good question for you. Bad phrasing for me.

I guess there's nothing special about the August CD. I've never heard any of the production samples on the RAP CD's.
I'm always "on the listen" for the good stuff that you guys (and gals) have on-the-air!

I had a subscription to RAP and I did like it. Honestly, it's a bit thin for the price but the reviews are cool and some of the monthly columns are pretty darn good. Listening to the promos, spots, etc on the CD was always the highlight for me.

The only reason I did not renew is because I've had to tighten up my financial belt. I hope to renew again soon. Oh, when I signed up they had a 2 CD sound effects set as a "bonus." Good stuff on there. I use it all the time.

Is it worth it for a VO? If you don't do your own production maybe not. As the name suggests, it is geared towards Radio and Production so it's of more use to the prod guru types at radio stations. But they do review equipment and software that VO types use too.

Also, check out their website, http://www.rapmag.com They have a RAP network and a DAW network you might consider adding yourself to.

Call Jerry, you can buy this month's issue, I do believe you can purchase the CD alone.
