I got the DVD form the ad agency of the Maxell/X-games promo I did a couple of weeks ago.

I've been able to get it to an AVI less than 4 MBs - but what I really want is a MOV or QT file - or at the very least a good quality MPG file.

Can anyone give it a shot? Here's the AVI file.
***NOTE: The AVI file has been removed and the video is now available in the voice-over section of my website***

I'd really like to get this on my website before the next newsletter goes out, and I'm afraid MAC peeps (and there are several on my list) won't be able to view it as an AVI.

Gracias.

-Anthony

EDIT: Or recommend a way to rip the DVD into said file? Please recommend a program that you have used or use. I've tried several but with no luck.

OK - figured it out. The problem was the audio on the DVD was in Dolby Digital/AC3 so I couldn't get it converted to regular MPEG2 Stereo.
Done.

Now it's easy to make it a MOV as well.

Thanks.

I knew it was a fun spot the minute we started recording. They had the visuals already edited for me so that REALLY helped getting connected to the "X" side of me. I loved it so much... BUT I forgot to ask for a copy of the spot after I came out of the booth. Frown

The next day I emailed the engineer at the studio, but I received no response from him. I then called me agent and asked her to request a copy for my reel because this is the first TV spot I've done in a while that I'd really like to showcase. She said ok - she'll have to ask for it. A couple more days go by and I'm really down - thinking I need to do something myself to get this commercial in my hands.

So I asked myself, "What would Banksey do?" Wink Ok - I didn't really ask myself that, but I decided to take matters into my own hands. I called the ad agency (MME) directly and introduced myself, "Hi, this Anthony Mendez. On the 28th, I voiced the Spanish Maxell spot for the X-games over at audioengine. I'd like to request a copy of the spot for my reel." The lady who answered the phone was really pleasant and tried to transfer to the appropriate person. After a minute, she returned to the line and said, "so-and-so is just about to step into a meeting, but she told me to give you her email address. She'd like for you to send her your information."

I did just that. Later that evening, the account rep replied saying that she will FedEx the DVD to me! I got it the next day at the studio! If I would've been too scared to call, I would have never had a copy of what I believe to be my best commercial work yet.

Now go pick up that phone.

WHAT WOULD BANKSEY DO?
