Hey folks- I have completely blown away my website and updated it with my new logo, demos and layout. I'd appreciate it if you could give it a onceover and let me know your thoughts and if you see any issues with it on your system.

Thanks much!

I really like just about all of it. Super clean, classy, love the logo of course. I like the layout.

There are only a couple of little nit-picks. There's really no need to have the vocal preface of "Corey Snow reading.... (whatever)...." before the audiobook pieces. Just jump right into it. The text tells us already and the average joe, wanting to hear YOUR voice, isn't wanting to waste time on that.

Also (another nit), you MIGHT want to consider putting all your demos on page one. Make it as easy-sleazy as possible to hear YOU. Granted, clicking on a tab ain't no big deal, but I'm not sure WHY we even need to do it.

You sound great. And overall I like everything a lot.

(As an aside, my wife shipped her ASUS back to the manufacturer today. *sigh*)

Hi Scott, thanks for the feedback!

As to the slates, that was based on feedback I've gotten from Audible and other publishers- from what I'm told they will frequently download and keep the files internally for reference, and without a slate it's harder for them to keep track of the voice.

I also added an "above the fold" set of links to 3 demos that hit the high points and added a "Listen" page that links to all the demos and lets you download them all as archives. The purpose of the tabs is to save space, especially on an iPad or iPhone.

And the sound is the important bit, so that's great to hear. Smile

I really like it. It's very clean. Easy on the eyes. Easy to quickly find the information I'm looking for. Love the logo too. Very memorable. I like it a lot. I agree with Scott that's it's a little odd to slate for the audiobook demos, but your reasons make sense to me, and in the end you want to make it easier on the people hiring.

Oh, and as an aside, I see you were 82nd airborne. Cool! My hubby was attached to the 101st in Desert Storm.

Great job on the new site!

Thank you, Shiromi! I was indeed in the 82nd, and pass my regards on to your husband as a fellow soldier and thank him for his service from me. Smile

So I'm thinking as I look on my big monitor, Wow, the logo and top third of the page are huge, pushing the demos down near the bottom. But then I looked on my iPhone and it looked just fine in the portrait position.

I guess that's the challenge if you have one site to fit them all, balancing what looks best big and small.

So.... do we have any idea how many purchasers of V-O work are likely to be looking at our web sites on portable devices? My feeble little brain pictures them listening to demos and "cruising" websites at their desk.

Is it time for me to do a reality check and join the 21st Century?

Hey Bruce,

Thanks for catching that!

Yes- it was intentional. I used my iPad to verify that it would work on iOS devices with that screen format and when held portrait-mode it fits perfectly on the screen vertically. In landscape, you have to scroll a bit, but there are also demos "above the fold" to to keep it simple.

I'm pleased that someone noticed. Smile It also kept me from having to use a separate mobile version.
