A humble thanx for your comments.... 'taken in my little walk-in closet/studio with minimal lighting on my 3-yr-old digital cam using a timed shutter...

sometimes you get lucky...

'think I could use it as an official photo in my website and on printed promotional materials?

It's a lovely photo which portrays a handsome man with warmth and character and it would be great to have on your promo material.

Dave the pics are pretty suave. I think they are usable.

Okay, I know you were at least kind of kidding about using the photo for promotional purposes in light of current vo-bb debate. I happen to think a photo of Courvo would be GREAT on promotional materials but I wouldn't use the current avatar, nor the one that actually is on your website now. You have quite a few good ones to choose from.

And rules - at least the ones that don't deal with the way you treat other people - often need to be reevaluated, bent or broken. Besides, you're on-camera and famous, so the "rule" about photos doesn't apply anyway.

Dave,

I really think a smoking jacket and monocle would set the mood better...

Thanks Mary, (and Tom and Bettie)

I guess I WAS kinda kidding, but the more I thought about it, the more I figured it wouldn't hurt to post THAT pic (after all, it touched the venerable Deebs enough start a new board topic).

I've decided pictures are as subjectively good or bad as voices are... photos you think are good of yourself don't seem to touch others, and shots that you think are losers, trigger positive responses in others.

What it HAS made me re-think is the whole appeal of my website, and I figure I'm going to have to work on it soon...but right now I'm efforting a whole new professionally-produced demo, and when THAT'S finished, I figure it's probably a great time to launch a new web-look too.

Thanks everybody for your posts!
Dave C.
(PS -- Bettie, where do I send the prints?)

I managed to track down a picture of Dave 30 years from now when he'll be newsman emeritus at NBC:

Dave--

When did "effort" become a verb?
I missed it.

I was hoping somebody would notice that....Voice Tom would tell you that "efforting" is a favorite among newsies.... as in: "I'm efforting that live shot for the next segment"...or "we're efforting his interview for tomorrow".

I dunno. It just got started somewhere, and now they're all saying it.

Kinda like "google" became a verb out of nowhere.

Bruce: Gawd....where'd you get that....?!!
