Just got my Apple refurbished iPad 2 today and checked it out. Thanks to everyone for the great feedback, experiences and tips. Corey's mention of RFI (radio frequency interference) being picked up by the mic cable, and recommendation to use Airplane Mode was a good heads-up, but my mic didn't pick anything up. Maybe because I didn't opt for the 3G or 4G phone.

It's wonderful... scrolling though page after page in complete silence.
