If the agency got you the gig, I should think they'd be asking the client as well...since they don't get paid until you do.
What do you do in the meantime? Keep sending invoices, be courteous, but put them on your "no-work" list until they pay up. _________________ Great Voice. Great Choice. For Voice Talking and stuff.

I'd fire off another invoice. Just my 2 cents.

A phone call to the agency followed up by an email telling them to remind the client that the licence (permission) to use your voice prior to full payment is only extended as a courtesy. As full payment has not been received they must no longer use your voice on the production and you require written confirmation from the client that you voice has been removed from the production.
Do not pussy foot around. The client usually makes a prompt payment although I suspect the agent is the problem or if there is one, the production company. |

Send a paper invoice to the Billing/Accounts department. And maybe just look up the agency at http://www.bbb.org/ to see if they're a member and if they've had any complaints filed against them. If they are a member in good standing that will tell you it's probably just a matter of time before you get paid. |

What does his reply have to say?
Regardless of the situation, I have always found that the person I am dealing with is just one rung on a ladder. When satisfaction is not met... go to the next person higher on the food chain. If it takes getting into the corporate clouds... make it happen. Sometimes when you want to get heard, you have to KNOCK on a BIG door. _________________ "Bailey"

Pay in 90 days isn't bad for an ad agency. The end of May is actually June. So look for the check about the beginning of September. |

Yeah-- 90 days can be their modus operandi.
When you're doing a gig for a new client, it's always good--and not at all impolite-- to find out when to expect payment. _________________ DBCooperVO.com |

Yikes! A lot of people are out for blood and it's only been 60 days or so, the normal course for some folks in this business. Yes, it's much better when they pay in 30 or less, but some folks just don't have it together like you and I.
First question, are you bugging the right person? This should be in the hands of Accounts Payable at the agency. If you haven't, give them a call and
a) make sure they have the invoice in hand (some nitwits don't forward them properly)
b) if they have it, then say, "I show that we're over 60 days on this. I'd like to know when you'll be paying this invoice."
Depending on their answer you go on from there.
I'd say be polite, yet firm, and keep your swords sheathed for a bit longer.

Wise words from Bruce. My comments only apply when you feel the client/agent is holding back.
My general approach when tempted to chase a debt is to go and find a new client, it's easier and a more profitable use of my time.
You are able to do nothing about the following. Can't pay and won't pay. |

It happens.
I just waited 3 months for payment from a very reputable NY agency because the client hadn't paid yet. But they did eventually, and I got paid. |

A couple of years ago I got a call from someone in the accounting department of one of my regular clients telling me the good news: I was such a good supplier that they upgraded me to pay in 90 days rather than pay in 120. When asked how good a supplier had to be to get paid in 30 days, she just laughed. |
