Paddyo,
As a fellow newbie, welcome. (snip) I agree with the suggestions about searching. I've been having a lot of fun digging through the archives. _________________ Be well,

There's certainly a lot of info here about home studio setups.
Take a look in the archives by using the search feature. _________________ DBCooperVO.com |

Welcome, paddyo.
A search will also yield some results in terms of demo peeps in NYC |

You may want to look into Voiceovers Unlimited at www.voiceoversunlimited.com. Dan & Carol Duckworth are great people and they offer a variety of classes, if you're looking for that, too. Their voiceover marketing seminar is top notch and they have an amazing facility to record demos. They also have VO agent interviews every Tuesday night. 10 minutes for $35! I go at least once a month. Check them out! _________________ Tom Dheere - The "H" is Silent, but I'm Not!

The Harlan Hogan book is chock full of great info that helped me in deciding how to build/equip my studio.
Good luck and welcome to the circus. |

Yeah, skip the workshops in NYC on "home studios" - they don't have enough of a handout or reference material for you to really absorb it. Get the Hogan book - I've heard great things about it.
Other than that - I can show you some basic stuff at my studio for a fee Just kidding - but that's usually what they do - "home studio workshops" are usually just fillers for empty or cancelled blocks of time.
Dive in head first... with a helmet and you'll be fine.

Welcome paddyo....you've already tapped into the heart 'n' soul of this board: its great support. Now we get to benefit from your presence!
I never attended any of the "build a better studio" workshops, but I'll add my vote to the Harlan Hogan book. There are lots of websites that offer some info too.
If DB hasn't mentioned it yet, just search "home studios" on this board, and I'll betcha you get a lot of great info.
All the best!

Welcome from a newby. I have learned so much from these guys in such a short period of time. I just wish my Harlan book would get here faster! And absolutely search the archives. Lots of amazing nuggets there. |
