This maybe oughta be in gear, but it's not technical, so here it is, kids...
Is there any acoustical/noise reductionary reason to carpet the OUTSIDE of a booth? _________________ Dangerous.

If you're referring to a Whisperroom, it's because they're built to be portable. Large speaker systems used for arena sound reenforcement are often covered with the same stuff too. You can have it in any color you want...as long as it's grey or black. _________________ Wicked huge.....in India.

Yeah, it's an old school speaker cabinet builder thing that just hasn't died yet! It keeps it looking "good" during a move, I suppose, and reduces reflections off the booth exterior from studio monitors (a little bit). _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.

Well, the scratching post observation seems valid, and Basement Cat would sure love to sink his talons in and go for a climb, but he shall have to get used to disappointment. _________________ Dangerous.

If I ever get a Whisper Room I'm going to sheath it in plywood, paint it blue, and have myself a Tardis. Hopefully, that will also make it bigger on the inside. _________________ Lee Gordon, O.A.V.

Why have I never thought of that. I've looked at lots of Tardis construction videos, but never actually thought of a Tardis-themed booth (OK, I'd never think about a small, square booth anyway, but that's beside the point.) But, the possibilities are endless... _________________ Bish a.k.a. Bish

OMG YES to the Tardis booth. That is the happiest thought I've heard in days.
I'm building a DAWbox over the next 6 months. I'll post pictures when it's done. _________________ Kendra Hoffman

Kendra, that's what got me thinking about the carpeting. I just received my Dawbox TM plans and hope to get started on the dang thing asap. Let's compare notes on the journey! _________________ Dangerous.
