http://www.soundstreak.com/

I just had someone send me this link, but I'm a bit overworked to really look into it. I am indeed curious.

Thanks

Wow, I had forgotten about this. A few years ago they were contacting people (through Voices.com if memory serves) to see if they would be interested in helping them test it. I did, and it seems like we had a session, but it kept hitting a glitch. Never heard anything else about it. I'm curious to see what happens with it.

It is only available for Mac and has been in beta since it's inception in 2008.

That said, it has always looked interesting and in my opinion useful.

The developer sent this to Cip last week. We're going to test it Mac to Mac next week when he gets back from vaycay. It's kind of interesting. I haven't dug too deep yet but...it looks like it can support video and other attachments.
I'll post some test results and files.

In-session you hear a Skype quality connection while the system records lossless files. As you pick "takes" during he session they're transferred to you in the background.

On the surface it does't seem much better than a Skype phone patch and FTP...and not as immediate as SC....cheaper than ISDN though.

I can see why it's been in beta for so long.

A suggestion Chuck: Make a connection with someone in another part of the country, not a local connection. Another country would be even better.

Too bad it is limited to Mac to Mac. Missing a large part of the VO market.

@Frank - For as often as I talk with people out there...it sure feels like it!

Greg - I totally agree on the Mac only thing. I've got a PC in the studio...and since Joe's going to be using his Macbook for this test I'm guessing he does too. George would know.
