Hi Gang! What (if any) finance software do you use to manage your business (Quiken, etc.)?

I've been using Quicken Home and Business. I like that you can keep all of your personal stuff and business stuff in one program but separate the two. And the business side of it is just what I need without being overkill on things I don't need. My accountant is happy with the reports it generates also.

I'm actually looking for a program like that myself, thanks for the tip!

I've been using Quicken since 1994.
I'm not familiar with much other than the way I've bent this program to my will after all these years.

QuickBooks Pro.
Yeah, lots of people think it's overkill, but I love it.....I guess it's the ProTools of accounting software! Love it or hate it! Wink
It works for me. Laugh

Quickbooks Simple Start. Planning to upgrade to Pro...it more flexible when it comes to generating detailed reports.

I use QuickBooks - but it is a real accounting program - and not just a check register like Quicken - so it really taxes my brain. Have used it long enough to do what I need to do without too many problems.

That's why I like Quicken Home & Business. The Business side is geared toward small businesses. It generates pdf invoices and business reports, tracks accounts, etc. without going into things like inventories and all that. But since I've been using it for years I'm not familiar with anything else out there.

I actually use performertrack. This integrates and logs my jobs, income, expenses, etc. The one downfall is that it does not automatically sync paid invoices with income. So when I receive payment on an invoice I've issued (and entered into PT), I must do two things: mark the invoice as paid AND enter the amount in my project income section. Not a huge deal, but it's nice to have all the workflow AND finance stuff in one place. I can also run reports that show how many jobs were booked from each resource, the income from different resources, etc.

PS -- I now am using billingboss to generate online invoices. This allows me to track all my invoices, see what's outstanding, etc.

I've used Quicken for years. I tried Quickbooks but it won't work with my credit union. They only support Quicken for online access.
