Hello,

I just realized I up and posted without introducing myself.

My name is Kendra and I'm a voice actor from Minnesota. I've been doing this professionally for about three years and have been lurking on the public forum for about three months.

In my former life I was an optical engineer testing lasers and measurement devices for fiber optics, and getting compared to 1-900-number operators whenever I chanced to page anyone.

I am a die-hard nerd. My closet is still my studio. And I am both dead-serious and giggly-excited about this career.

I'm delighted to have a chance to interact with everyone. Hello!

[BTW - the title of this post is a reference to an early-80s-era slightly creepy/funny children's etiquette video. It's what the grinning skull-head guy says when he burps at a dinner party. If you can find a video link, you are a better Googler than I.]

ya know, Kendra - just 'cause you're a die-hard nerd doesn't mean you get out of bringing the chocolate. Make it dark. Please.

Welcome aboard!

As you wish - my specialty is brownies.

But I reserve the right to cut them into the shape of a Starfleet insignia, Jayne's hat, Kryten's head, the Satellite of Love, or the Tardis. Smile

Present party guests an empty plate and tell them that you have made Klingon Battle Cruiser shaped brownies (Cloaked).

Welcome Ma'am; both you and your delightful smile.

Hello (again!) Kendra. Now, that avatar is much better... but, to be honest, you had me at lasers.

... and once again, Melissa conveniently forgets to mention the llama. I think it's a "girls sticking together" thing ... all the new guys get llama duty!

Cheers
Peter

Kendra,

Welcome to the VO-BB. I was born and raised in the farm country a hundred miles north of the Twin Cities, but live in Pittsburgh now. So good to have you and your dazzling smile with us. Laugh

Hi Kendra,

I don't consider myself part of the welcoming committee because I've recently been welcomed myself. But since you're from Minnesota, and I'm fortunate enough to be the voice of the Vikings this year, (commercials and promos, not play by play) I feel like we're neighbors.

So even though I'm in Portland, pull up a chair and 'show your horns'. It's nice to have you here!

Not only do I work in IT, but I do have my own lightsaber and Captain America shield.

(oh, and was the voice of the Borg in "Star Trek: The Exibition")

Nerd runs deep round here.... (I'm more of a geek really, but when talking to Philip I feel more like a dork.)

Welcome!
