I would show you my lawn and assorted flora...but the grass is a nice shade of "dead brown" due to the lack of rain. I guess I'll have to stop waiting on mother nature and put the sprinkler out. It does need mowing...but only in certain spots Undecided

Well, this is an enduring thread, and I can't resist posting either.

Today in Las Vegas it was 109 and 4% humidity.

If you don't water it twice a day, it won't grow...and even then you have to choose drought-resistant plants. Growing grass is discouraged by the Water Authority (sounds like an ominous public institution, doesn't it?) They actually do have patrols to catch water-wasters.

You also don't survive (at least not very well) without a pool in the Summer.

The purple bush in the foreground is a 2-yr-old Chaste Tree.

This is about as green as it gets in Southern Nevada.

You know, I'd post a picture of my backyard, but all there is down there is grass. That and the neighbor's house. You guys don't want to see my neighbor's house. It's not nice.

Here's a photo I took of my backyard last night:

The two little white specks down below are my cat, and the two little specks near the top are from a pygmy owl that the cat would like to get to know.

Bruce - all I see is a black box. Must be a picture of a black cat eating licorice in the coal bin at midnight.

The view from my guest room window. Not spectacular, but restful to the eyes. That's the Mill River below (everybody has one).

Wish you could hear the wood thrush that's singing there right now. Oh wait, maybe you can
