Are you kidding? We're all done.

We're pay-as-you-go types. It's all paid for except his minor student loans-- and being "student" loans, they're alllll his.

WOW DB!
What a great full family shot!
Congrats to you and your son.

I have to agree with Frank, "You look to young to have a college graduate for a son!"

I, too, like the pay-as-you-go method. Credit is for people with money!

Care to share what his discipline is? And what he plans to do with it??

Congrats all around!!! My oldest is only a HS Junior, but I got a late start. She wasn't born until I was 41.

Great looking shots!

DB

My sincere Congrats as well, what a blessing to see your kids all grown and doing well! is the nest empty then? If so, how is that situation? As one facing it in a few years (well...six really....ten if you count college...we hope) my wife and I were just talking with the duaghters of some friends of ours and frankly, I was a little concerned for my wife with the whole empty nest thing. ( Ok I know it's crazy this far off but you gotta think it through right?)

Your obedient...

Re: Empty nest--

The key is to develop your independent life as your kids become more independent-- so that you're nearly fully-fledged by the time they're flying off.

For me, my own selfish obsessions were always running neck-and neck with the needs of my kids because I have such an involved spouse.

I've been empty-nesting now for 8 years. Hopefully, what I taught my children will sustain them through their adult-hood. It wasn't a matter of "Now you're 18 - get the hell out!" It was a matter of being a parent with the responsibility of teaching my children to become independent and self-sufficient. I feel I've met that responsibility with flying colors!

My daughter gave her Senior Cello Recital at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music yesterday. She graduates June 10, and takes off the same day to play in a 5-week opera and chamber music festival in Lucca, Italy.

How many times have Mom and Dad been to Italy, you ask? Hah!
