VO-BB - 19 YEARS OLD!

I was sitting in my studio today editing some last minute things and making & taking some phone calls - then lunch time (yeah, lunch) came - I thought, "Man, it's weird one of my agents (freelance) hasn't called me in this week to audition - oh, well - maybe it's just a slow Friday."

A good friend of mine (also a vo who freelances w/ this agency) calls me from there and says, "What time is YOUR audition."

I replied, "I don't have one today."

He explains, "I saw copy here with your name on it... unless there's another Anthony Mendez, it's for you."

I called the agency and asked. My contact there said, "Yeah - you're on the list for so-and-so. You should've gotten a call yesterday. What time do you want to come in."

And there ya go. I would've missed that opportunity if it weren't for my good friend - who, by the way, auditioned for the same spot. He could've just as easily not called me.

It's good that he called. On the other hand, it would take a truly paranoid, underhanded "friend" to NOT call in the hopes that you didn't already know about the gig... sounds like he assumed your agent gave you the heads-up (which they should have).

After some reflection, I realized that asking for an introduction to your agent on this forum was tactless and tacky. I apologize for my stupidity. I guess my noob-ness is getting the better of me.

I'll get the hang of this thing yet.
