All of a sudden this morning I noticed that I am unable to save a recording as a .wav file. Even though I select .wav when I go to save the file, it saves it as an .mp3.
It started happening after I mixed a file I had created with a music bed. I took the original .wav file I recorded and inserted it into the multitrack. Then I opened the .mp3 music bed and inserted it into the multitrack and saved the mixdown as an .mp3 file.
After that I found I was unable to save anything as a .wav.

Seems like I managed to fix it. Upon further examination, I realized that it was saving the file as a .wav file - just the extension was .mp3.
Don't know exactly what I did to'break' it - and I don't know exactly what I did to 'fix' it, but it seems to be fine now. _________________ Elaine

Elaine,
To fix it properly, (one of the little inconvieniences of using certain programs with Gates and the Boys toys) try going to Windows Media Player>Tools>Options>File Types>Select All>Apply>OK
When running Quicktime from this point make sure you select not to change "Associations".
This will fix it, ...until the next time.
