Hey Gang— I'll be at the Game Developers Conference this week and kicking around San Francisco until Sunday.
I didn't get a slot speaking, but I'm part of a program on Friday Morning (Good Lord, 9AM!) called VO Session LIVE!

It's being presented by Mike Csuricks, who's the dialog supervisor at 2K. We're going to set up a recording session and go thru all the steps. Michael Sinterniklaas will be the engineer and Morla Gorrondona is the other talent.
She's doing the emotional stuff, I'm doing the "system" stuff.
I expect the audio to get tossed up onto the net as soon as we're done— I'll keep yiz posted when I can.

I had just snapped some pix at GDC at a booth whose logo was a Steampunk chick that looked just like Ms. Coopers avatar, and lo and behold but who did I run into 5 minutes later but the intrepid proprietress of the VO-BB herself. I showed her the photo and she went off in search of the booth.
Since then I have been to 163 parties and not run into her again. although some were so crowded that you might only engage the people within about 12 feet of you in any direction. I just got back from the GANG awards post party. It was a who's who of gaming composers and sound designers. Oddly enough, they all wish they were voice actors.
She will be part of a very cool session in the morning, which I hope is being taped, because alack and alas, I shall not be attending.
This concludes my report of this year's GDC.
I am certain Dee will have much more to say.
If she doesn't post a pic of her dopelganger, I will make sure to do so.

Couple quick things for now— Got back last night at midnight after playing tourist yesterday (Alctraz!) and my camera's proprietary battery coughed out far too soon.
I didn't bring the spare! I have to just keep that sucker in my gear bag. It's just nutz.
I am up early to record some pickups for a client who didn't pay attention to my availability info. I did whole awards ceremony announcements the week before I left and told them I was available MONDAY for pronunciation repairs, etc, but after that I'd be gone. I got a call Wednesday asking for some fixes and I had to tell them there was no chance until today.
The ceremony is TOMORROW.
