The Cars called it quits in 1988, I believe. Bassist Benjamin Orr died a few years ago, too. The skinny weird dude is singer Ric Ocasek. _________________ Great Voice. Great Choice. For Voice Talking and stuff.

Thanks to this thread, I went out and got the New Cars' cd over the weekend as a little treat for working overtime during the week. Todd sounds great in the Ric spot. Such a talent.
Too bad the live tracks are mixed like a radio concert. At some points, the keyboards are barely audible. _________________ Greg Littlefield

My wife is probably the biggest Todd Rundgren fan of all time. I'm gonna pick up the New Car's cd for her after work today I think. She is fanatical about him. _________________ TG2

My wife loves the Cars and Todd, but is usually skeptical about such frankenbands. I think she liked this one, though. They even did "I Saw The Light". Like I said, his voice fit the material really well.

NEW CARS' ELLIOT EASTON GOES IN FOR REPAIRS
NATIONAL ROAD RAGE TOUR TAKES A PIT STOP
Los Angeles, CA (June 12, 2006) Elliot Easton, founding member and guitarist for The New Cars had surgery today for a broken left clavicle sustained during a near crash when their tour bus swerved to avoid a vehicle on Monday, June 5, while on the road for The New Cars Road Rage Tour 2006 with Blondie.
Determined to not miss any dates, Elliot continued to play. "I've been waiting 17 years for this tour", Easton told his doctor when was getting his x-rays, although, due to the severity of the break Easton requires surgery.
Elliot is currently in New York under the care of Dr. Steven Yang following the procedure to repair the broken left clavicle with plate and screws as the bones are too far apart to mend properly without surgery. Without the surgery Elliot could have limited use of left shoulder. |

Well at least there's the new Cars movie you could go to at the local cinema instead.
